It's a terrible, silly rumor, but I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't spread it around. Warner Brothers recently changed the release date of the upcoming Wachowski Brothers/Rain movie, NINJA ASSASSIN, from January 16, 2009 to "First Quarter 2009." This could mean one of several things: Warner Brothers thinks the movie should be released in March rather than the traditional dumping grounds of January; they may just want to keep their options open; they're thinking of moving the date but they're not sure where it'll move to so they're loosening it up; or there's a disaster!!!!!!!
Well, over on the Hollywood Stock Exchange (a silly online game adults play that seems to get a lot of insider traffic) they're wondering if the shifting release date means that there're some problem with the film. A problem like the one Warners had with WATCHMEN, their big upcoming franchise that's hit a court-ordered snag over chain-of-title? Let the speculations and rumors begin!
