SEOUL -- Sales agent Cineclick Asia is reporting a surge of interest in Berlin Golden Bear winner "Tuya's Marriage" by Chinese director Wang Quan'an.
It has struck new deals with Arsenal for Germany and Maywin Media for the ex-CIS territories. Previously-announced pacts included Spain (Golem), Italy (Lucky Red), Switzerland (Frenetic Films) and the former Yugoslavia (Discovery Films). Pretty Pictures holds rights for France, Indonesia and Benelux.
The Seoul-based Cineclick also closed a number of deals on Korean pics, including low-budget Forum entry "Ad Lib Night" to Amuse Inc. in Japan, which is planning an autumn 2007 release.
Kim Ki-duk's 14th film "Breath" has now been pre-sold to 10 territories including recent deals to Brazil and the ex-CIS territories, while horror film "The Red Shoes" was sold to Brazil and "Acacia", "Sorum" and "Fighter in the Wind" were picked up for Poland.
