SEOUL - Korea's Busan Film Commission and Asian Film Commission
Network(AFCNet) will hold the first 'Film Policy Forum', a two-day Asia-Pacific
film policy forum which runs from Oct 4th to 5th.
The Forum is organized to coordinate different governments' policies in Asia-Pacific
region concerning with the whole process of film production, in order to develop
Asian film industry.
Agents and officials in 37 regions from 14 countries will get together at the Forum, to
discuss new business models in Asia-Pacific film industry, especially finding
new incentive model to attract more productions from Hollywood and other
regions.
Various governmental offices will present each countries's film co-production and
location policies, including China's State Administration of Radio Film and
Television(SARFT), Japan Agency for Cultural Affairs, and Ministry of Culture of
Russian Federations among others.
Philippines' Big Foot Entertainment and China's Hengdian World Studio will be introduced as new business models which has developed differentiated niches in Asian film market.
Ty Warren, an executive vice president of Dreamworks will also attend the event to give opinions about Asian film industry from the perspectives of Hollywood studio.
Korea's Busan and Japan's Sappro will sign an MOU to facilitate cooperations in film
education, co-production and bilateral distribution at the event.
This years' Busan International Film Commission and Industry Showcase(BIFCOM) runs from Oct. 3rd to Oct 5th.
