BANGKOK -- The first Thailand Entertainment Expo will run Sept. 24-28, serving as a film market for the Bangkok Film Festival, which takes place Sept. 23-30.

The Expo is hosted by the Dept. of Export Promotion, and hopes to draw at least 200 Thai and international exhibitors in film, music, TV, advertising and computer games, and at least 15,000 attendees.

The venue is Paragon Hall in downtown Bangkok, which also hosted the poorly-attended Bangkok Film Market in July 2007.

The film festival, which has undergone several organizational changes and upheavals, will be run for first time run by a Thai team comprised of the Federation of National Film Assns. and the Thai Film Directors Assn. Festival dates were moved to late September to correspond with the Expo.

Index Event Agency has been subcontracted by the DEP to organize the Expo.
