STOCKHOLM -- Indian distributor Palador Pictures is working with the Swedish Embassy in India to commemorate helmer Ingmar Bergman, who died last summer.
A series of the helmer's films -- including "Wild Strawberries," "Summer With Monika," "Through a Glass Darkly," "The Silence" and "Devil's Eye" -- will be shown in New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune and Mumbai between Aug. 8-Sept. 18.
Gunnar Bergdahl, who became a close friend of Bergman while making two documentaries -- "Intermezzo: Ingmar Bergman" and "The Voices of Bergman" -- will screen "Intermezzo" for film students and the public at workshops in New Delhi and Mumbai.
Palador Pictures distributes indie films theatrically and for the home entertainment market in India and has a library of some 1,000 titles.
