TOKYO -- "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" has passed the Yen 5 billion ($46.4 million) mark at the Japanese box office, according to distributor Paramount.
The pic reached this milestone -- which indicates blockbuster status in the Japanese market -- on the 40th day of its release. Also, admissions have passed the four million barrier. The exact totals as of July 30 were Y5.04 billion ($46.8 million) from 4,04 million admissions.
In its 6th weekend on release, July 26-27, the pic earned Y138 million ($1.28) from 105,073 admissions on 604 screens.
Worldwide, "Indy 4" has racked up $767 million, making it the number one B.O. pic in the world this year to date.
In terms of non-U.S. B.O., Japan is the number two territory for the pic, after the U.K.
