Comic book giants team for web venture |

TOKYO -- Japanese comicbook publishers Kadokawa, Kodansha, Shueisha and Shogakukan plus Tose Software have bowed Librica, a Web publications venture.
Librica will offer comicbooks to fans on the Web, starting with content aimed at users of the Nintendo Wii. The partners are planning a similar service for the Nintendo DS handheld.
Shogakukan plans to transmit comicbook content over the Internet to Korean PC users by the end of the year, in partnership with three Korean publishers. The partners are also considering a mobile phone service.
Shueisha has a similar Korean launch, targeted at mobile phone users, skedded for this fall. It plans to expand to China and other Asian countries.
