Fun facts from the National Geographic Channel and Frisbee are important markers on the road to happiness in the Indian indie "R(evolution)." Story of a young man trying to overcome the loss of a loved one, with the help of someone more earnest (but no less silly) than "The Love Guru," portrays the culture of those seeking knowledge in recreational drugs and around bonfires on palm-lined beaches with a seriousness the subject doesn't deserve. Pic also doesn't offer enough New Age-y insights to turn it into a cult item. If lucky, this "R(evolution)" could be televised.

A passage dealing with loss in the Krishnamurti book "The Only Revolution" moves Feroz (Anand Tiwari, overly eager) so much he seeks out Dominic (scribe-helmer Mustafa Zaveri, effective), whose address he finds scribbled in his copy. The bearded semi-guru takes Feroz on a one-day crash course in inner peace on the beaches of Goa. Widescreen lensing doesn't do full justice to the superb location, and the screenplay o.d.'s on flashbacks that connect all the dots a little too neatly. Score is a heterogeneous melting pot.
