Warner's bat claimed HK$16.5 million ($2.12 million) from 37 venues, compared with the Mei Ah/Edko-released Chinese historical actioner's $571,000 from 35 locations.

Screen averages were a stratospheric $57,200 for "Knight" and a still strong $16,300 for "Cliff." The John Woo-helmed "Cliff" holds a cume of $2.45 million after 11 days.

The only other opener of consequence was "Space Chimps," jointly handled by Emperor and Lark Intl., which played out with a $92,300 cume in 24 venues.

PPI's "Kung Fu Panda" held on in third place with a $203,000 weekend, taking its cume after 25 days to $3.73 million.

Sony's "Hancock" in its third week slipped to fourth with a weekend total of $154,000 adding up to a cume of $2.93 million.
