NEW DELHI – British TV distrib, Channel 4 Intl. has sold 120 hours of shows to an array of broadcasters around Asia.
The first five series of award-winning sitcom "Peep Show," produced by Objective Productions, was licensed for South East Asia by Fox International Channel’s FX.
AETN All Asia Networks acquired Gecko Production's abduction drama "The Girl in a Box," and Blast! Films took "The Fake Trade" for its Crime & Investigation Network.
EBS in South Korea and Taiwan's Public TV Service Foundation both acquired docu "Undercover in Tibet," produced by True Vision. PTS also nabbed "China’s Stolen Children," a one child policy docu from True Vision, which was produced for Channel 4 and HBO.
In Thailand, True Visions acquired 60 hours of content, including Videotext Limited's archeology show "Time Team," Proper Television's reality series "Newlywed, Nearly Dead?" and Keo Films' "Medicine Men Go Wild."
Singapore-based Asian Food Channel bought a package of titles, including two shows from Keo Films stable, "Hugh’s Chicken Run" and "River Cottage Treatment."
Malaysia's Astro acquired two feature length docus from Pioneer Productions — "The Living Body" and "Animals in the Womb" — as well as the International Emmy award-winning "Brat Camp."
C4 Intl. represents programs transmitted on Channel 4, BBC, Five and ITV and is part of Digital Rights Group, which is backed by Ingenious Media Active Capital.
