HONG KONG -- Singaporean and Malaysian authorities have collaborated for the first time to crack down on cross-border trade in pirate DVDs.
Four people were arrested and 4,300 discs seized during raids on the Malaysian border town of Johor Bahru. Retail outlets and websites were believed to be supplying Singapore customers.
The raids were conducted by the Intellectual Property Rights Branch of the Singapore Police Force and the Enforcement Division of Malaysia's Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs.
