HONG KONG -- Brandon Wen Rui Feng, the Chinese businessman who in January bought a 21% stake in Hong Kong movie production company Big Media, became its chairman on Thursday.

He replaces Li Kuo-hsing who is stepping aside with immediate effect.

Company, which is a leading movie supplier to video and TV market player Mei Ah Entertainment, says Wen has more than 20 years of experience in trading and commercial businesses including pharmacies, real estate property and heavy machinery logistics.

Wen, who has not held a directorship of a public company in the past three years, paid Mei Ah HK$80 million ($10.3 million) for his stake, cutting Mei Ah's holding to 23%.
