HONG KONG -- Police in Taiwan's capital, Taipei, arrested two men and two women Friday during a raid on a website operator and a DVD-R burner lab.
Police, who were acting on information from the Taiwan Foundation Against Copyright Theft and from the Motion Picture Assn., seized 171 burners, 14,000 blank discs and 40,000 pirated DVDs. Titles included "The Last Mimzy," "Transformers" and "Underdog."
The lab was operated by a group that offers pirate movies for sale through partners and street vendors. The Buyxbox website was part of a decentralized sales system involving 50 associate members and 1,000 linked websites.
