Warner Bros. is to make its first animation feature in India following a deal with helmer Jyotin Goel and his Goel Screencraft shingle.
Move is the latest of several Indian film deals announced by Time Warner units in the last year.
The untitled pic is described by Goel as ``a journey into the lives of birds as they soar over dense jungles and teeming cities, giving them a point of view of the world that is hilariously different from ours.''
Goel Screencraft and Goel Cine Corp. have produced 24 features, including local classics such as ``Ek phool do mali'' and ``Aadmi sadak ka.''
Jyotin Goel has produced five Hindi-language movies and helmed three, including hits ``Zahreelay'' and ``Inaam dus hazar.'' He also wrote and directed sci-fi TV show ``Antariksh.''
Post-production will be handled by multimedia and Internet company Interactive Realities Intl.
In the last year Warners has increased its involvement in the Indian film biz.
In April it signed a multi-picture production deal with India's Ocher Studios to make regional-language pictures, which Warners will release. Late last year it agreed to produce ``Made in China'' with Ramesh Sippy Prods. and Orion Pictures.
Separately, Time Warner unit Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific announced plans to expand into feature animation production in India.
