The Weinstein Co. has inked a five-year output deal with pan-Asian pay-TV STAR for the company's films to be shown on Star Movies.
Deal, which includes previous Weinstein Co. titles "1408" and "Sicko" as well as forthcoming pix like "The Reader" and "Crossing Over," covers Southeast Asia including India and China.
"In just under three years, we have established a solid infrastructure to distribute our films across a variety on international mediums," said Weinstein Co. international distribution prez Glen Basner.
The Weinstein Co. already has deals with BSkyB in the U.K., Canal+ in France, ARD in Germany and Rai in Italy.
Star reaches over 39 million homes across Asia.
