Cathay gives Reel start to JV |

CANNES -- Singapores
Cathay Organisation and Dubais Emaar Malls group have named
their cineplex joint venture Reel Cinemas and confirmed plans to open
multiplexes in the Middle East, North Africa, India and
Indonesia.
First to open
will be the 22-screen Reel Cinemas Dubai Mall that will begin operations in the
last quarter of the year. Shortly after it will open a premium-only six-screener
in Dubai Marina. (Variety, Oct

Company said
successive openings are skedded for Cairo (Cairo Gate and Uptown Mall) and
Damascas.
Emaar is
planning to build 150 malls across the region.
