LONDON U.K. indie Metrodome Distribution has acquired all U.K. rights to Chinese war epic The Warlords.

The big-budgeted, effects-laden Chinese pic, which toplines Jet Li and co-stars Takeshi Kaneshiro and Andy Lau, has taken $40 million on home turf.

A release late summer/early fall this year is planned.

The deal was handled for Metrodome by Peter Urie, CEO, Tom Stewart, general manager home entertainment, Kate Edwards, acquisitions and business affairs manager, and by Wayne Duband at Wayne Duband Consulting for Applause Pictures and Media Asia out of Hong Kong.

Metrodomes 2008 release slate also includes Bruce Webers Oscar-nominated jazz documentary Lets Get Lost, Neil Youngs tour film CSNY Deja vu, Santosh Sivans Before the Rains and French animation Fear(s) of the Dark.
