HONG KONG -- TV producer Eddie Tan has been hired by News Corp.'s Asian entertainment branch STAR TV as VP of programming at Channel [V].
Tan
will oversee programming development of Channel [V] Intl. while also
working with other Channel [V] properties in Asia on cross-channel
initiatives including concerts, events and acquisitions.
He joins from NBC Universal's KidsCo Intl., where he was head of global programming and production since 2006.
Music and lifestyle channel brand, Channel [V] operates seven channels in Asia and Australasia.
Tan, whose Hong Kong-based appointment becomes effective March 31, will report to Todd Lituchy, prexy of STAR Entertainment.
Tan's previous experience includes stints as a consultant and seven years at Walt Disney Television Intl.
"His
expertise and proven track record as a creative executive and top notch
programmer will be counted upon heavily while we beef up our content
production in an effort to further strengthen Channel [V]'s position as
the premier music and youth brand in Asia," Lituchy said.
