SEOUL -- The Korean film industry is hot on sequels, with KM Culture's romantic comedy "200- Pound Beauty" the latest to line up for a second round.

TV scribe Lee Han ("Bodyguard") is penning a script in which the main character, Hanna, regains the weight she lost in the original, and tries to establish herself as a singer.

No director or cast have been attached, though Kim A-Jung, star of the original, is expected to return.

"Beauty" grossed a boffo $44 million in South Korea in early 2006, and also performed well in Singapore and Hong Kong.

Other Korean hits to get the sequel treatment include Chungeorahm's record-breaking monster movie "The Host," Show East's food drama "Le Grand Chef" and Sidus FNH's gambling pic "Tazza: The High Rollers."

"The Host 2" has been budgeted at close to $12 million, and will be based on a script by leading comic artist Kang Full. Shooting will start this year, with a release planned for 2009.

"Le Grand Chef 2" will be co-scripted by Heo Young-man, whose comic formed the basis for the original. A new comic will be published in 2009 to coincide with the sequel's release.

The only film to have a director attached is "Tazza 2," which will be helmed by wunderkind Jang Jun-hwan ("Save the Green Planet"). No cast has been attached to the project, which is aiming for a late 2008 release.
