BERLIN -- Global Entertainment Group, a London based investor in Asian films, has picked up Hong Kong and China rights to "The Coffin," the upcoming thriller by Ekachai Uekrongtham ("Beautiful Boxer".)
Pic, now in pre-production, will star Karen Mok from Hong Kong and Thai cinema's leading dramatic lead Ananda Everingham. Story sees a couple confront the mystical events associated with an ancient Thai death ritual and their attempt to reverse the wheel of karma.
GEG signed the deal with Live Incorporation and Singapore shingle Scorpio East Pictures and paid 20% ($226,000) of the $1.13 million budget.
