Yip heads distribution at Emperor Print E-mail

HONG KONG – Emperor Motion Pictures has confirmed that May Yip has rejoined the company, having left four years ago to join News Corp. outfit Fortune Star Entertainment.

The appointment, which has immediate effect, sets her as EMP's GM, distribution, reporting directly to chief executive Albert Lee.

Company has substantially expanded its distribution slate and is set for a busy year.

Slate includes David Lee's "Yes, I Can See Dead People", starring Steven Cheung and newcomer Kathy Yuan, Derek Yee's "Shinjuku Incident", starring Jackie Chan, Daniel Wu and Naoto Takenaka; Kevin Chu's "Kung Fu Dunk", starring Jay Chou and Charlene Choi; Sylvia Chang's "Run Papa Run", starring Louis Koo and Rene Liu; "The Fantastic Water Babes", starring Gillian Chung, Alex Fong and directed by Jeff Lau; as well as Chen Kaige's "Mei Lanfang", starring Leon Lai and Zhang Ziyi.

"(Yip) is one of the most respected and sought-after distribution executives in Hong Kong," Lee said.
