LONDON — With more than a year still to go, 90 television, music and
digital content companies have signed up for new industry event Amazia,
which launches Nov. 17-20, 2008 at Hong Kong's Convention and
Exhibition Center.
Amazia
is billed as the first Asian business-to-business exhibition and
conference event devoted to the creation and distribution of
international entertainment content across all platforms.
Among
more than 20 Chinese companies to express interest are CCTV, Beijing
TV, Greater China Media and Entertainment, Guangzhou Beauty Culture,
Star-DTV and Films and China Movie Channel.
Other Asian companies set to attend include KBI, SBS Productions and MBC from Korea; Zee Network, Shemaroo Entertainment, Eros Entertainment
and Air Media from India; Typhoon Distribution and Agogo Entertainment
from Hong Kong; MSC from Malaysia; and Taipei Hsien Computer
Association from Taiwan.
From the rest of the world, All3Media, Channel 4, Cosgrove Hall Films and Indigo Films (U.K.); Horizon Quebec (Canada); Rive Gauche, Televisa, TV Azteca and Powersport (U.S.); Caracol (Colombia); RTVE, ICEX (Spain); Danish Broadcasting Corporation
(Denmark); Mondo TV (Italy); City Art and K&P Television (Dubai);
Two Ways Traffic (Netherlands); and Dori Media, Baby First TV (Israel)
have all confirmed their presence.
Amazia is being organized by Paris-based Reed Midem, which also runs Mip TV, Mipcom, Midem and Milia. Like Variety, Reed Midem is owned by the Reed Elsevier publishing conglom.
