BEIJING – Some of China’s top helmers including Feng Xiaogang and
Zhang
Yang will gather in Yokohama for the second Chinese film festival,
which
will take the theme “Beijing” ahead of next year’s Olympics.
The week-long festival, which starts on Monday, is aimed at improving
understanding among young Japanese about China and Chinese culture and
will show six movies during the event.
The festival will also show promotion footage for the Beijing Olympics
and will stage an Olympics exhibition.
The Chinese Film Festival in Yokohama was first held in 2006, becoming
the first formal Chinese film festival in Japan.
