HONG KONG – Taiwanese police Wednesday arrested two people accused of running pirate DVD operations in southern city of Kiaosiung.

Acting on information from Taiwan Foundation Against Copyright Theft and the Motion Picture Association, police raided the XYZ website and confiscated 27 DVD burners and 40,000 pirate discs with titles including "300," "Die Hard 4.0," "Evan Almighty," "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," "Knocked Up" and "Transformers."

According to the MPA, the website used seven different URLs, all believed to be run by a China-based operative. Email orders were sent to the website from customers in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and China. The operators would then arrange for the production and delivery of the pirated discs.

Raids were second in a month by Kiaosiung authorities against pirate disc producers. The two suspects face charges carrying potential penalties of up to five years imprisonment.
