HONG KONG – Friendster, once the world's leading social networking website, Tuesday launched a traditional Chinese language version.

Site is said to be the largest social networking site in the Asia-Pacific region with over 35 million registered users, but had not previously been available in Chinese.

The privately-owned company expects the move to increase its potential audience by some 50%. "Launching traditional Chinese will help Friendster continue to grow rapidly. We have a large number of Chinese-speaking users on Friendster that would like the choice to enter their content and use the site in traditional Chinese," David Jones, Friendster VP of marketing, said.
