Warner Japan and Shochiku to unleash "Goemon" Print E-mail

TOKYO -- Warner Japan and Shochiku will jointly release “Goemon,” the fantasy actioner by Kaz Kiriya, in March 2009, the distribs announced.

Shooting on the pic, which is based on the life of legendary 16th century ninja and bandit Ishikawa Goemon, is skedded to wrap in November. Kiriya, whose frosh feature was the 2004 sci-fi fantasy “Casshern,” is helming, writing, lensing and producing the pic, together with Taka Ichise (“Ringu,” “The Grudge 2).

Kiriya has also inked with Warners in the U.S. to make an alien invasion pic, but the two projects are not related.
