Midem tunes up plans for Amazia jamboree Print E-mail

HONG KONG -- Reed Midem Organization has firmed up its plans to launch Amazia, an Asian entertainment content convention and market. Event will take place at Hong Kong's Convention and Exhibition Center over four days, Nov. 17-20, 2008.

"Amazia will be the only multi-platform, content driven market in the Asian region bringing together in one place and at one time the key Asian players and their international counterparts in the entertainment industry," said Reed Midem CEO Paul Zilk.

Like Variety, Reed Midem, which organizes the MIPTV, MIPCOM, MIDEM and Milia TV, tech and music events, is owned by the Reed Elsevier publishing conglom.

Span of activities covers film, TV, music and games and across platforms from the traditional to mobile and IPTV.

Speaking at the Shanghai TV Festival, Zilk said that in its first frame some 70% of participants are forecast to come from Asia, and 30% intercontinental visitors.

Features on offer include exhibition space, conferences, product screenings, workshops and innovation zones.
