In what's likely the first deal unveiled during the ongoing L.A. Screenings, Disney said it had renewed its volume agreement with MediaCorp, Singapore's top free-to-air broadcaster.

Under this agreement, MediaCorp Channel 5 will carry a wide range of programming including TV series, current and library features, telepics and specials.

Among the series are "Desperate Housewives," "Lost," "Grey's Anatomy," "Ghost Whisperer," "Criminal Minds" and "The Amazing Race," along with more recent entries "Ugly Betty" and "Brothers & Sisters."

The first season premiere of "Desperate Housewives" broke records in 2005 as the highest-rated acquired drama in the past four years on Channel 5.

Also included in the deal is the Disney Channel original movie "High School Musical" and, later in the year, "High School Musical 2."

"Channel 5's ‘First on 5' position as Singapore's frontrunner of international content is further strengthened with this continued relationship with Disney, where we get first pick of the new U.S. series," said Channel 5 VP Selena Ho.
